Worthy to Be Worshipped

Our new single has just been released! It is called “Worthy to be Worshipped” and it is available now on all the major streaming services, as well as to purchase on iTunes. It’s been a joy to be able to write this song, to sing it together as a family, to record it, and now to share it with you all here. We hope it will be a blessing in some way to you as you listen to the words and consider how much bigger He is than we are.

I wanted to give a little bit of background about this song and its’ lyrics in a kind of service template way, which, to be honest, is really just a way to foster journalling and reflection on a passage before a service, as well as aiding in internalizing the message and seeing how the content is way bigger than the music. So here goes….

This song began as a way to try to point to the beauty of seeing how big He is and how we are so small, how He is sovereign and we are not as big as many think they are. And it is a wonderful thing to reflect upon because it fills a person with endless wonder. He took all the necessary steps to save us, He sought us and brought us to Himself according to His plan, He is making us new. We are held fast by mighty hands. This is a foundation for our hope, this is a never ending source of joy because His work is sure, His promises are certain, and we can ever and always look upon what it is that He did to save His people with unfathomable awe. Turning our gaze away from ourselves, away from people, and beholding Him is a beautiful thing because it is only in doing this that we have that unshakeable foundation that rests on who He is and what He has done that does not shift and sway with changing circumstances, but enables us to live worshipfully in the midst of them. Our continued hope and joy are rooted in our greatest Delight.
